A disappointing follow-up to a great horror hybrid (Spoilers) Onslaught is about three super soldiers escaping from captivity and attacking the residents of a trailer park. It hails from writer Simon Barrett and director Adam Wingard, who previously made The Guest, which is about a renegade super soldier. After playing coy, Wingard did confirm that …

Nobody
A well done adaptation of an old tale (spoilers) Odysseus (Matt Damon), king of Ithaca, is a man strong of both mind and body. The latter is demonstrated when he’s the only person who can string his bow. The former is shown when he comes up with the idea of getting through the gates of …
Woman of Tommorow
A competently made superhero movie (spoilers) Supergirl is loosely based on Tom King and Bliquis Evely’s beloved miniseries, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. It starts with Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl (Milly Alcock) having a birthday bender under a depowering red sun. While partying, Kara meets Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), who is on a revenge quest …
Buffy, Season of Love
An even better second season (spoilers) We’ve reached season two of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It starts several traditions, like having the season premiere begin in a cemetery or having a Halloween episode during even-numbered seasons. Before we get started, I would like to acknowledge the fact that this has been a very bad two …
Sheriff Nobody
Odenkirk and McLeod shine in an enjoyable action movie (spoilers) Ulysses Richardson (Bob Odenkirk) is a lawman with a rather laissez-faire attitude towards policing. He’s been appointed the interim sheriff of Normal, Minnesota. It’s a small town full of quirky characters. The kind of place that looks all cozy, but isn’t nearly as idyllic in …
Odysseus In Paradise
An action movie letdown (Spoilers) Much like another character created by Derek Kolstad, Hutch Mansell (Bod Odenkirk) has to deal with “dipping his pinkie” back into his previous life come the sequel. He’s returned to his job as an “auditor” to pay off this massive debt, but that’s led to him working long hours away …

In Bad Days
A remake that’s fine (spoilers) Warning: This article contains Scream series spoilers In this remake of I onde dager or The Trip (which is a way worse title if you know what I onde dager translates as), Dan (Jason Segel) and Lisa (Samara Weaving) are a couple going through some difficulties. They travel up to …
Clearest Blue
A good if pragmatic adaptation (spoilers) In this film adaptation of Jordan Harper’s novel of the same name, Nate McClusky (Taron Egerton) is a recently released ex-con who’s been marked for death by Aryan Steel, a gang of meth-dealing white supremacists. Worse, the greenlight was issued not only against him but also against his family. …
